If you want Microsoft Word to open with the „Home” tab selected by default when you launch the application, you can set it as the default tab using the following steps:
Method 1: Word Options
- Open Microsoft Word.
- Click on the „File” tab in the upper left corner to open the Backstage view.
- Click on „Options” at the bottom of the navigation pane. This will open the Word Options dialog box.
- In the Word Options dialog box, click on „Customize Ribbon” in the left-hand sidebar.
- In the right-hand pane, you’ll see a section labeled „Main Tabs.” Under this section, find the „Home (Mailings)” option.
- Check the box next to „Home (Mailings)” to make it your default tab.
- Click „OK” to save your changes.
Now, the next time you open Microsoft Word, the „Home” tab will be selected by default.
Method 2: Ribbon Customization (Advanced Method)
If you prefer more control over the ribbon customization, you can follow these steps:
- Open Microsoft Word.
- Right-click anywhere on the ribbon (the area with tabs like „Home,” „Insert,” etc.).
- Click on „Customize the Ribbon” in the context menu that appears.
- In the Word Options dialog box that opens, you’ll see a list of tabs on the right side under „Customize the Ribbon.”
- Find the „Home (Mailings)” tab.
- In the left column („Choose commands from”), select „Popular Commands” from the dropdown menu.
- In the right column („Customize the Ribbon”), select „Home (Mailings)” and click the „Add” button.
- Click „OK” to save your changes.
Now, when you open Word, the „Home” tab will be selected by default.
Please note that these instructions are for Microsoft Word on Windows. The process may vary slightly for other versions or platforms, but the general idea remains the same.
